Christianity Explored

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

Matthew 16:13-16

Christianity Explored is an informal 7-week course for people who would like to investigate Christianity, or even just brush up on the basics. Looking at Mark's gospel, it explores who Jesus is, why He came, and what it means to follow Him.

Christianity Explored gives time and space to think about the big questions of life. It is ideal both as a way of introducing people to Jesus and as a refresher course for your home group or entire congregation.

By focusing on Mark’s Gospel, it allows people to explore the person at the heart of the Christian faith - Jesus Christ.

What about Alpha? There are two clear distinctions that make Christianity Explored quite different from Alpha. The first is that it seeks to teach Mark’s gospel, using this as the basis for the entire course. The second is that it seeks to teach the wonder of God’s grace against the background of our sin and God’s judgment, compared to the Alpha focus of “God loves us.”

The Christianity Explored group is run twice a year, if you would like to know when the next one is scheduled take a look at our Calendar or contact the Minister.
